The creators of ShopSavvy, Big in Japan, will be holding an AndroidDevCamp in Dallas Texas on Saturday October 25th plus providing free pizza.
The stated purpose is to have Dallas be the most represented city in the 2nd Android Developer Challenge.
Dallas had two winners of the first Android Developer Challenge with Rylan Barnes creating GoCart, now ShopSavvy, and Jason Hudgins who developed TuneWiki – Both of whom will be at the event.
75 people are invited to the Big in Japan office at 1950 Stemmons Freeway Suite 2022 in Dallas with the following schedule:
- 10:30am to 11am – How to get started on Android.
- 12pm to 12:30pm – Experience sharing from two of the winners from the first Android Developer Challenge and how to participate in the second.
- 1:30pm to 2pm – ShopSavvy demo.

This is a smart marketing move from Big in Japan to expose their brand especially after forgetting to provide the latest version of ShopSavvy to the Android Market.
ShopSavvy was thus removed from the Android Market, as it was whittled down to the only 13 applications meeting the deadline specifications, but Big in Japan co-founder Alexander Muse belatedly provided the updated version today to be made available.
*** As corrected by Alexander, there was a lack of clarity from Google on their internal application swapping process in the Android Market as other applications were affected as well ***
