Things I’m enjoying about the Honeycomb music player

Even though I gave up on trying to sync my music to the cloud, I’m still very much digging the Honeycomb music player. The differences between music players might not seem significant, and for the most part they’re not. For the most part they all accomplish the same functions, which are to select, play, pause, fast forward, and rewind your music. But some take care of that in more intuitive ways. Update: My music was syncing for 24 hours, so I pulled the plug on the experiment. Maybe another day.

On Monday we kicked off the week right. Or, should I say, the guys at xda developers did. If there was ever a reason to root, this just might be it. We know that at some point in the future you’ll be able to play your entire home music collection on your Android via cloud streaming. That will be a boon for those with full SD cards and are frequently within signal range. If you’ve already rooted your device, you can do this right now. From xda developers we learn that the cloud sync is working now. You’ll need an Android 2.3.3 ROM — CyanogenMod 7 has nightly builds of it — and the Honeycomb music player. After that you should be able to get the thing up and running.
